As the market leader in Austria and Slovenia, number two in Hungary and Slovakia, number three in the Czech Republic, as well as of growing importance in Poland and Germany, the company has been able to continually improve its market position, despite increasing competition.The LEDER & SCHUH Group currently has over 340 locations and has pursued a consistent course of expansion for many years. Thus, it entered the Romanian and Swiss markets in 2008 and Croatia in 2009. In addition www.shoemanic.com –HUMANIC’s eShop- also initiated the online business in Austria and Germany in 2009.

	Locations 56 % of the 346 sites were located outside of Austria.
	Employees In 2009 the average number of employees rose from 3,478 to 3,666. 52 % of the personnel were employed outside of Austria.
